BREEAM

BREEAM environmental assessments for buildings provide a credible environmental label to stimulate demand to sustainable design. BREEAM ratings start at a 'Pass' and progress up to 'Outstanding' to reward the best performing design and build process.Click here to visit the BREEAM website

We can help achieve BREEAM points in the following areas:

  • Health and wellbeing
  • Energy
  • Pollution
  • Innovation

RHI

The Renewable Heat Incentive is the world’s first long term financial support for the generation of renewable heat energy utilising Green renewable technologies. The Government’s Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) will now pay for the generation of renewable heat.Click here to visit the RHI website

It is possible to claim a 20 year income from the scheme by installing Mitsubishi Electric:

  • Air Source Heat Pumps
  • Ground Source Heat Pumps

ECA

The Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme provides upfront tax relief for companies paying corporation tax or income tax that invest in energy saving equipment. Businesses can deduct 100% of capital expenditure (this includes equipment and installation costs) against taxable profits, delivering a significant cash flow boost, and shortening the payback period. Click here to visit the ECA website

To qualify for the ECA, equipment must be self certified by the manufacturer to ensure it meets with the requirements and testing standards for the ECA. Mitsubishi Electric offer a range of air conditioning products that are self certified and qualify for 100% first year enhanced capital allowance.

CRC

The Carbon Reduction Commitment - Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC-EES) is a mandatory scheme designed to incentivise large public and private sector organisations to improve energy efficiency and cut CO2 emissions. Participants must purchase carbon allowances for the amount of CO2 they emit in the previous year from the Government. Click here to visit the CRC website

The most pro-active companies in terms of energy efficiency and carbon reduction will benefit as they will be able to decrease the amount of allowances they need to purchase under the scheme and will also be ranked higher in the league table, therefore raising their profile as a carbon-saving organisation.

BS EN378

There is a European recommendation which looks to provide an early warning system to room occupants if the air conditioning system located within their bedroom were to have a catastrophic release (refrigerant leak) and the entire volume of refrigerant within that system was to leak into the bedroom.

You can design your system so that you do not require a leak detection system by removing the refrigerant from the occupied space and utilising H-VRF or a Chiller instead. However, If this is not an option then a leak detection system would be required and several options are available from Mitsubishi Electric.

F-Gas

F-Gas stipulates obligations on the containment and recovery of certain fluorinated gases. Fluorinated gases (F-Gases) are powerful green house gases that are found in most air conditioning systems. They contribute to global warming if released into the environment as they trap heat in the atmosphere. Click here to visit the F-Gas website

Obligations include, but are not exclusive to:

  • Leak checks
  • Meeting standards on refrigerant recovery
  • Keeping correct records and labelling
  • F-Gas qualifications and training for installation and maintenance teams
