An AHU or air handling unit is a device used to condition and circulate fresh air as part of a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system
AHU’s usually supply and extract air from a building simultaneously enabling a clean, fresh and healthy indoor environment.
Key components include:
- Fans
- Heating & cooling elements
- Filters
- Dampers to regulate fresh air
Some AHU's utilise low energy technology such as inverter driven heat pumps and heat recovery to increase energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions, as well as running costs.
